a little over a month ago I was able to assist for good friend Stephen Hunton…you can see his work: HERE

I met Stephen awhile back when coming across his info from a comment on another photog’s site
we connected, talked photography, and became quick friends….Stephen has a great eye and even more impressive drive to continually improve himself and his skill set

we have even had the chance to collaborate on a show for Project Live Love together and i am looking forward to how it turns out…

It’s such a blessing to have someone like Stephen within the photo world continually pushing and encouraging me to strive for more, not give up, and to never sell myself short

with all that said, i was honored that he asked me to assist him on this wedding….one of the biggest lessons i learned while helping him was this: i was not meant to be an assistant….ha

don’t get me wrong, i still loved helping him out, holding lights, and carrying gear…but, the photographer in me kept seeing all these different shots i would have been taking had i not been holding up 50″ softbox in the air….

Stephen did a great job on the wedding and it was cool knowing that i was helping set up the shot for him….it gave me so much more respect for everyone who assists me on my shoots, especially Javi when it comes to weddings….that boy is a stud with a great work ethic which i love…to be a good assistant, you need a good work ethic

To see the killer job that Stephen did on the wedding, check out the wedding HERE
here are a few of the shots that i was able to grab from the day:
