Came across this little guy a couple months back when visiting friends in Athens, GA. I had no idea what it was, but I was completely impressed that all of its parts were still working.
This model was made in the late 1930’s and it’s nickname became “The Brick” because of the shape and weight. It was also one of the most accessible cameras which is what largely helped make 35mm film become the standard.
After shooting 2 rolls, I have fallen in love with this camera. However, it has also completely humbled me. I think that I only really like about 7 images out of 70, but I attached a few extra shots to show you how it looks.
If you have grown up in the digital era of photography, then you definitely have to pick up a film camera that doesn’t have an internal meter or auto focus. It slows me down, helps me think through every shot so much more, and to be honest, it just looks cool.

It’s always a huge honor to work with my friends at Catalyst. They provide incredible opportunities for leaders in all arenas to be encouraged, inspired, and equipped to lead well. Not to mention, it’s a blast! If you are a leader in any capacity, you have to put space in your calendar. You will not regret it.
Here are a few of the frames from this past conference here in Atlanta.

I’m so thankful that Gretchen and Micah are such close friends of mine. It was such an honor to shoot their wedding day and since it was such a packed day they knew they would want a day after session a few months later once the weather started to cool off.
We headed down to Cabbagetown and shot in and around The Stacks.
Thanks Micah and Gretchen for your friendship and also for enduring the cold, fall morning weather!

Not very often does a band impress me so much from the start then the way that Seryn did when I heard them at the Catalyst conference back in October in Atlanta. I have mad respect for bands that are so instrumentally talented and leave you absolutely speechless after seeing them perform.
Their album is great, but you haven’t fully experienced them until you have had a chance to catch them live. It will leave you begging for more.
Here are a few shots I captured of them at Catalyst plus a show they played the following night in Athens.

Whenever I first meet a couple, I love getting the chance to hear a little bit of their story. I love seeing how they interact with each other and express their love even before putting them in front of a lens. It’s only then that I feel as though I’m able to tell their story well and portray them in a way that everyone else already sees when the cameras are not around.
That’s why I had such an incredible time getting to know Kelli and David and being able to tell their story. They have been together for over 4 years but seemed as though they just started dating last month. I will usually give my couples a little direction if needed, but Kelli and David were so comfortable in front of the lens that I just had them keep doing their thing.
Thanks Kelli and David for such a fun shoot. I hope we all get a chance to hang out again soon!
