I’m not even sure where to start with Gaby, but in a good way. I’ve known her for many years now and she’s been like a little sister to me. That includes watching her grow up, realize and excel in her gifts, but it also includes constant torment and ridicule. One of our biggest areas of disagreement always focused around all the great music I listen to which shouldn’t even be talked about in the same conversation as The Jonas Brothers (her absolute fav in middle school), One Direction (her absolute fav now), or whatever band that will become her absolute fav next who won’t last after their teens because they are terrible – ha. Obviously I’m still not trying to make my case, even in her senior blog post – that would be pretty low.
Despite always claiming shot gun in a 12 passenger van on 12 hour mission trip car rides and talking the entire way there and back, or my failed attempts at leaving her at gas stations along those routes, or the time I kept calling her Tinker-dumb when showing up at a Halloween party as Tinkerbell that my wife and I put together for the students at our church, we have somehow remained friends and I hope that doesn’t end as Gaby heads to whatever is next.
She is phenomenal in theatre, loves Disney, and I know will pursue something that very much includes both of those.
Thanks so much Gaby for having me take your senior photos – even though you’ve sucker punched me about 10 times more than I believe I deserve, Jenica and I still are proud of you and excited to see you pursue your passion.
